About Te Kohuroa Rewilding
Te Kohuroa Rewilding is an initiative to rewild Mathesons Bay/Te Kohuroa.
The mission is to bring the community together to care for our ‘Blue Backyard’ and inspire a new wave of coastal guardians.
Over the last few decades increasing human impacts such as overfishing, sedimentation and climate change have put immense pressure on the wellbeing of the bay. The marine and freshwater habitats are at a tipping point.
Part of your entry fee will go towards helping the team heal Te Kohuroa’s marine ecosystem through a long-term programme of restoration activities.
High Fives from the Pod

“The YogiFish combo is very complimentary and the ‘swimrise’ and exploration swim with the Whangarei Ocean Swim, or with another group, is adventurous and challenging.”

About Yogifish
- Getting your ‘body, brain and breath on blue’
- Sharing experiences with a supportive pod
- Taking on new challenges and gaining confidence
- Finding stillness, peace and exhilaration in the ocean
- Having the courage to let go of the shore and discover what lies beyond the deep
We do quick dips at dawn, ocean laps around a bay. We swim through crevices, canyons and caves.
We go on longer safaris, retreats, escapes and swimcations to explore stunning
coastlines both locally and further afield.
